Exercise 6b: You think you know this object?

After spending a little more time observing my object from the previous exercise, I will now change the object and give it a new purpose. I have enlarged it and it now has a new purpose as a coffee table. The style is high gloss and modern. It looks elegant and stylish, is practical and easy to clean. By opening the lid you will reveal a compartment for books and magazines.

Here are a series of ideas and drawings of the changed object where I communicate the size and scale using human scale. I have drawn in Plan, Section and Elevation. I have always found drawing ellipses difficult but after much practise I’m definitely feeling more confident when drawing them. I have also attached images of the coffee table in a setting. This was my first attempt at Photoshop, it looks as though the table is floating and so I need to spend more time practising with the software, I have enjoyed putting images together on the software, it’s a fun way of creating designs.
