Exercise 1.4: Capturing Movement

I visited a cafe in my home town armed with my camera and a sketch book. After ordering myself a breakfast and tea I sat and observed my surroundings. The decor is tastefully designed and decorated with a warm and inviting atmosphere. People were either sat at a table or sofa whilst others were wandering through to another part of the building that has beautiful pieces of second hand furniture and antiques for sale. The building is an Emporium of different business with a trendy cafe upstairs, my sort of place to head to for inspiration. I decided to sketch the basic detail of the cafe in pencil and used soft pastel colours to create bodies of stillness and movement, smudging the colour on the bodies to show that they were walking around.
